🌿 Curiosity Crew: Ages 4–7

Curiosity Crew is designed for children in the early years of learning, when curiosity is expressed through movement, story and hands-on exploration.

At this stage, children are building reading confidence and developing the foundations of scientific thinking. The material is layered intentionally. Stories, experiments and creative projects can be enjoyed with adult support, while older children within the range often begin engaging more independently.

Some elements are sensory and immediate. Others gently introduce richer vocabulary and early reasoning skills, designed to be revisited and grown into over time.

Crew works especially well for families who value shared learning and flexible pacing rather than rigid progression.

🔬 Curiosity Club: Ages 8–12

Curiosity Club is written for children who are ready to explore science in greater depth and with increasing independence.

From around eight, many children read more fluently, follow multi-step reasoning and take pride in mastering more complex language. The Discovery Guides reflect this shift. Concepts are explained carefully, ecological connections are explored, and experiments invite close observation, recording and reflection. Crafts are more technically challenging and aim for that sense of accomplishment that excites this age range.

Not every section or activity needs to be completed. Some ideas will feel comfortably accessible. Others are there to stretch thinking gently and can be revisited as understanding grows. Over time, the material becomes part of a growing archive of discovery.

A note about seven-year-olds

Seven is often a transition year.

Some seven-year-olds thrive in the story-rich, guided exploration of Crew. Others feel ready for the independence and depth of Club. Reading confidence, temperament and learning style matter more than age alone.

If you are unsure, we are always happy to help you choose.

The activities are designed to be flexible and can be done in small pockets of time throughout the month. They are designed to give children a sense of achievement, but also lead to more engagement if they want to keep going.

Whether you have 15 minutes or a whole afternoon, there's something to engage your child.

We also include a wide range of different activities to suit lots of different learning styles and interests, so don't feel you have to complete everything! The key is to enjoy it and engage with nature.

Curiosity Club (ages 8–12) is mostly child-led, with projects your child can explore independently. Some activities, like experiments or crafts, may need a little adult support.

Curiosity Crew (ages 4–7) is designed for co-learning, with grown-ups playing a gentle guiding role as your child learns through play.

Absolutely! Curiosity Club & Crew are linked on the seasons as experienced in the Northern Hemisphere.

The stories and activities are rooted in nature and linked the changing seasons, so while some details may be specific to the UK, the themes of exploration, curiosity, and creativity will feel universal.

Our species spotting exercises are carefully curated to include both European and North American species alternatives, so there’s always something relevant and exciting for your child to discover, no matter where you are. Whether it’s learning about squirrels, foxes, or the changing colours of leaves, these experiences resonate with children across the Northern Hemisphere.

The Curiosity Club and Crew are printed in the UK on uncoated stock made from 100% genuine de-inked post consumer waste and FSC® certified. Made in an industry leading mill to strict ISO 14001 standards for environmental management, the paper we use is processed chlorine free (PCF) significantly reducing water contamination from processing.

When will I be charged, and what will I receive?
Every month, your edition dispatches on the 7th (or the next working day). Renewals are charged on the 2nd of the same month, a few days before your adventure goes out. Your first payment is always taken at checkout.

If you join while the current month's edition is still in stock, it will be sent straight away and your subscription will renew on the 2nd of the following month. If the current edition has sold out, your first box will be the following month's adventure.

What subscription options do you offer?
We offer three plans: 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month minimum commitments. All plans are billed monthly and renew automatically. The longer your plan, the more you save per box. You can pause your subscription for one month at any time via your account, and cancel any time after your minimum commitment has been fulfilled.

Is my price guaranteed?
Yes. The price you pay when you sign up is locked in for the duration of your plan, even if prices increase later.

What are the shipping options?
UK shipping is free, sent via Royal Mail Tracked. International shipping is tracked and duty pre-paid: USA and Canada £10/month.

Absolutely! We understand that life can be unpredictable, so we’ve made it easy to skip a month at any time or cancel your subscription, in line with the subscription option you chose.

You are able to skip a month or cancel your subscription in your customer portal.

All subscriptions are billed automatically every month and continue after your chosen initial subscription commitment length.

You can cancel in line with your with your subscription choice: You can cancel any time with the month-to-month subscription, any time after 3 months with the 3 month minimum subscription, or after 12 months with the 12 month commitment subscription.

Please note that when you join on a particular subscription plan, your rate is locked for as long as you are a member, regardless of any future increases in our prices. If you leave and rejoin, your new subscription will be subject to the rates available at the time of rejoining.
