What age group are Curiosity Club and Curiosity Crew designed for?

Curiosity Club is thoughtfully created for children aged 7–12 years old, a stage full of questions, creativity, and growing confidence. Each box is written and illustrated especially for this age group, combining story-led science, creative projects, and hands-on exploration they can enjoy independently.

Curiosity Crew is designed especially for 4–6 year olds, with age-appropriate storytelling, playful learning, and gentle science activities made to nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence through nature-based discovery.

That said, every child is different. Some younger or older children may enjoy either box depending on their interests, reading level, and learning style. We have younger Crew members sharing activities with older siblings, and even a few grown-ups who subscribe just for themselves!

The contents of Curiosity Club and Curiosity Crew are completely different within each month, so siblings can enjoy their own unique adventures side by side, without repeats.

All activities are designed to be screen-free and developmentally appropriate, with opportunities for adult support during moments like nature walks, craft assembly, or science experiments.

Safety note: Please note that collectible pin badges and some other items may contain small parts or sharp elements. These are not suitable for children under 36 months and should be kept out of reach of young children and individuals who may have difficulty with small parts.

How much time is needed each month?

The activities are designed to be flexible and can be done in small pockets of time throughout the month. They are designed to give children a sense of achievement, but also lead to more engagement if they want to keep going.

Whether you have 15 minutes or a whole afternoon, there's something to engage your child.

We also include a wide range of different activities to suit lots of different learning styles and interests, so don't feel you have to complete everything! The key is to enjoy it and engage with nature.

Do I need to be involved in every activity?

Curiosity Club (ages 7–12) is mostly child-led, with projects your child can explore independently. Some activities, like experiments or crafts, may need a little adult support.

Curiosity Crew (ages 4–6) is designed for co-learning, with grown-ups playing a gentle guiding role as your child learns through play.

Will any items repeat?

Patch and pin designs will not repeat within your Curiosity Club subscription.

Patch designs or puppet types will not repeat within your Curiosity Crew subscription.

Is Curiosity Club suitable for families outside UK?

Absolutely! Curiosity Club is based on the seasons as experienced in the Northern Hemisphere.

The stories and activities are rooted in nature and the changing seasons, so while some details may be specific to the UK, the themes of exploration, curiosity, and creativity will feel universal.

Our species spotting exercises are carefully curated to include both European and North American species alternatives, so there’s always something relevant and exciting for your child to discover, no matter where you are. Whether it’s learning about squirrels, foxes, or the changing colours of leaves, these experiences resonate with children across the Northern Hemisphere.

Curiosity Crew is only available in the UK at this time.

What are the sustainability credentials?

The Curiosity Club and Crew are printed in the UK on uncoated stock made from 100% genuine de-inked post consumer waste and FSC® certified. Made in an industry leading mill to strict ISO 14001 standards for environmental management, the paper we use is processed chlorine free (PCF) significantly reducing water contamination from processing.

BILLING & DELIVERY

How does billing and delivery work?

When you sign up, you’re reserving your place for next month’s box. For example, join in October and you’ll receive the November box, shipped in the first week of the month.

We offer three subscription options:

  • 3-month minimum
  • 6-month minimum
  • 12-month minimum

All plans are billed monthly and renew automatically. The difference lies in the minimum commitment — and the longer you stay, the more you save per box.

Your first payment is taken at checkout, and future payments are billed on the 15th of each month. You can pause your subscription for one month at any time via your account. Cancellations can be made any time after your chosen commitment has been fulfilled.

The price you pay when you sign up is guaranteed for the duration of your plan, even if prices increase later.

  • UK shipping is free and sent via Royal Mail Tracked.
  • International shipping is available to the USA, Canada, and Australia for £12/month.

Please note: international customers are responsible for any import duties or taxes charged by their country.

What is in the Welcome Pack?

This Welcome Pack is sent to all new Curiosity Club or Crew subscribers free of charge, and included with the first box.

Do you have sibling discounts?

Learning is even more fun when shared. When you add two or more subscriptions to the same address, you’ll automatically receive 10% off your total at checkout.

It’s a simple way to make sure siblings can explore together — and everyone feels part of the adventure.

Can I order Curiosity Club or Crew as a gift?

Yes! Curiosity Club or Curiosity Crew makes a thoughtful and memorable gift for curious children who love nature, science, and stories.

If you’d like to gift a subscription for a set time period (like 3, 6, or 12 months) without it renewing, just email me at care@arcanaliving.com and I’ll set it up for you.

To send a gift through the website, simply enter the recipient’s name and address at checkout. You can also add a message in the 'Is this a gift?' box in the cart. We’ll handwrite your note onto a keepsake card and tuck it into their first box...a beautiful way to begin their journey.

Do you ship internationally?

Curiosity Club is currently shipped to USA and Canada and Australia by Royal Mail International Tracked services. Please note you are responsible for any additional duty fees your country might require on import.

Curiosity Crew is only available in the UK at this time.

Can I buy past boxes?

Our archived Curiosity Club boxes are available through the link in the menu. Each one is packed with seasonal nature activities, creative projects, hands-on science experiments, and fascinating facts—designed to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of the natural world.

They make brilliant one-off gifts for nature-loving children, and are a great way to add extra adventures to your month—or to try out Curiosity Club before joining.

SUBSCRIPTION MANAGEMENT

Can I cancel or pause my subscription if needed?

Absolutely! We understand that life can be unpredictable, so we’ve made it easy to pause or cancel your subscription, in line with the subscription option you chose. You are able to pause or cancel your subscription in your customer portal.

All subscriptions are billed automatically every month and continue after your chosen initial subscription commitment length.

You can pause at any time for 1 month through your customer portal. You can cancel in line with your with your subscription choice: You can cancel any time with the month-to-month subscription, any time after 3 months with the 3 month minimum subscription, or after 12 months with the 12 month commitment subscription.

Please note that when you join on a particular subscription plan, your rate is locked for as long as you are a member, regardless of any future increases in our prices. If you leave and rejoin, your new subscription will be subject to the rates available at the time of rejoining.

How do I access my customer portal?

To access your customer portal for the first time, all you need to do is create an account using the email you signed up with.

Magic Links: If you prefer not to create an account, you can also access your account via a time limited magic link here.

You will also receive a magic link to access your customer portal in every notification email we send. If the link has expired when you come to click on your email, simply activate another to be sent by entering your email address.
