Whispers of Wetlands: Hidden Blooms of Fens and Forests
A tribute to water-held landscapes: misted fens, damp meadows, shaded woods. The plants here depend on a balance of light, water and seasonal rhythms. Now rare and often overlooked, they are reminders of the richness that once flowed through our wetlands. This design brings their quiet forms into view, soft and detailed against a pale jade weave.
Featuring: Narrow-leaved Helleborine, Lesser Butterfly Orchid, Grass of Parnassus, Fen Violet, Milk Parsley
SIZE: This blanket is our medium size, which is approximately 182cm x 137cm (72”x54”). The exact dimensions of each design might vary slightly from the above, due to the difference in the density of weave of different colours.
BSBI x ARCANA: Created in collaboration with the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland, this blanket is part of a special Arcana collection that celebrates the beauty and fragility of some of our most threatened wild plants. Each woven design features five endangered species, chosen for their ecological significance, which grow in wild places: from alpine ledges to forgotten field margins and fens. They are an invitation to notice, to remember, and to reconnect with the landscapes we call home.
10% of sales go directly to the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland, the leading charity for plant recording, research and conservation across these islands. Since 1836, BSBI has brought together botanists, volunteers and nature-lovers to protect and understand the wild plants that shape our landscapes.

Why? Because making things to order means less waste, slower production, and a more intentional way of working, one that reflects the ecological stories we’re trying to tell.
How you can use your blanket
Arcana blankets are, in fact, woven soft tapestries, making them highly versatile. They can be used as a decorative throw across a bed or a sofa, a snuggly blanket, as tapestry art hung as the wall, or even as a picnic blanket.
As they are machine washable, you can be confident you can keep them looking glorious for years to come. And because they are so finely woven, they are also reversible, showing the design in different complementary colours on the back.
Sustainable & ethical fabric
Woven using the best sustainable and ethical practices on Jacquard Looms, by highly skilled weavers in a small family business in the foothills of North Carolina.
Made in small batches from recycled cotton, which requires significantly less water and produces less carbon dioxide than virgin cotton.
Our blankets are woven from 75% recycled cotton, 20% spun cotton and 5% polyester that is required in the recycled cotton portion to retain its strength.
All the colours you see are woven from just six colours of threads, which can be seen in the 1.5 inch fringing on the edge. Two edges show the colours, two show black and white threads.
Each soft tapestry blanket contains over 8 miles of yarn. Because the blankets are woven, every one is reversible, showing different colours on the back.
From cosying up with a book to lying on the beach, you can use your blanket everywhere at any time of year, as the lightweight nature of the fabric allows amazing versatility.
Natural and woven fabrics and beautiful and unlike anything else. Due to their nature some minor imperfections may be present but we think this only adds to their charm.
Heirloom and washable
Designed to last a lifetime and beyond, and also machine washable, so you can keep them looking beautiful for years to come.
You can hand wash or machine wash the blanket in cold water on a delicate cycle using a mild detergent, so you don’t need to worry about loving it and taking it everywhere. Do not bleach. Line dry or machine dry on cool cycle only.

RETURNS
We put a lot of love into our products, and are confident you will be very happy with them. But, if for any reason at all you want to return them, that is no problem at all. Returns and exchanges are accepted within 14 days of delivery, but we ask they are returned in the same condition they arrived with you.
